Blog Challenge - Day 30 (The End!!!)

30 – A photograph of yourself taken today and 3 good things that have happened in the past 30 days

This is me today sporting my beetlejuice sunnies!

I can't believe how quickly this 30 day challenge flew by which means that another month is over already! I've really enjoyed the discipline of having to post each day (I think I managed it...more or less!) and hope you enjoyed reading it too :)

The 3 good things that have happened over the last month would have to be booking a trip to Barcelona, 11 (mostly sunny) days off work and having a proper catch up with the bestie after far too long!

Until next time,

Blog Challenge - Day 29

29 – The place you want to live

I'd love to live in Australia as I have quite a lot of family who live out there....who am I kidding my real reasons are totally naive and shallow - gorgeous weather and beautiful beaches! Yes please!

Until tomorrow,

Blog Challenge - Day 27 & 28

27 – A photo of your favourite item of clothing

It changes weekly but my fave item at the moment is this dress from Dorothy Perkins - I just love the style, the pattern and the beading :)

28 – A cartoon character  that you'd love to meet in real life

It would have to be Spongebob - who wouldn't want to meet a talking sponge!!
Until tomorrow,

Hauled: Elf

Just a small Elf haul to share with you - most of these products have been swatched/ reviewed on many a blog but it doesn't hurt to show them again does it!?

First up the Studio Complexion brush which I bought to replace my Body Shop Face & Body brush that I've somehow managed to lose (lord knows how - its blinking enormous!)

Its early days but so far I actually prefer this brush to the awol Body Shop one it has replaced - its lovely and fluffy but slightly tapered so great for getting into those cheek hollows with the bronzer!

Next up is the Complexion Perfection compact again from the Studio range which I bought because I umm and aaah over it every time I'm on the Elf site and need to just try it to stop me wondering!

Next up was a new Eyebrow Kit in Dark as I've hit pan (on the cream/gel side) on my current one. I love this product - would even go as far to say its my holy grail product for taming wayward brows.

Last but not least was a gift with purchase in the form of a Super Glossy Lip Shine in Mauve Luxe. Now I don't know about you but when I think of the colour mauve my mind (and google images) conjures up something like this...

but what you get when you swatch it is this....

a rusty mid brown?? :-/ Not my cup of tea at all colour-wise and the formula of this gloss is also really really sticky....bleuuuuurgh!

Blog Challenge - Day 26

26 – A celebrity you don't like and why

Source
Sorry but it has to be Victoria Beckham - whilst I appreciate that her pout is her 'trademark' it just makes her look constantly miserable. Of course money, fame and a gorgeous family may not be the key to happiness but surely she can find something to smile about once in a while!?

Blog Challenge - Day 25

25 – A photograph of the town you live in

So I cheated a bit on this one as Reading where I live, is your bog standard modern city and not much to look at. Instead this is a pic taken at Reading Festival back in 2007 which is probably one of the things the city is best known for!

Until tomorrow,

This week I've been....(Part 1!)

Getting lost in a maze at Cliveden House (a big stately home near where we live.)

Apparently Sarah Harding is getting married there this year (that's according to Andy by the way - slightly ashamed he knows more celebrity gossip than me!)

Stocking up on some new summer tops

Drinking my first Pimms of the year

Walking by the river and throwing in sticks for Eddie to fetch

Giving Eddie a bath after his paddle - that's one unimpressed pup!

Getting these scrummy Easter pressies from Andy

Watching him blow bubbles in the garden for his two little nephews

Eating awesome barbequed food...sticky ribs and grilled halloumi cheese

This is a slight variation on my normal this week post as like most of the UK we've been out and about making the most of the unseasonal sunshine these past few days so I haven't had time to accumulate many loves, loathes or lusts.

I've got the next few days of work so will do a 'part 2' photo round-up later in the week to make up for it!

Until next time,

Blog Challenge - Day 24

24 – A song to match your mood

This song has a real summer holiday vibe to it - which is kind of how I feel right now. Contented, sunkissed & with a week's holiday lying ahead of me :)

Until tomorrow,

Blog Challenge - Day 23

23 – The next plan you have coming up that you're really excited for

I'm heading to Barcelona for a city break in June. I'm so excited about spending a couple of days munching tapas, soaking up the gorgeous architecture and strolling on the beach. And I've just read that it has three, yes three Sephora stores! *swoons*

Blog Challenge - Day 22

22 – A photograph of the part of you that you like the most

My hair is the part of me I like the most and get the most compliments on as its nice and thick and on a good day pretty shiny too :)

11 days off and an Elf offer..

Like a lot of people I've now got 11 days off work thanks to the two bank holiday weekends and just 3 days of annual leave :) So excited at the thought of not setting my alarm for almost two weeks!

I'm just about to head out to get some food for a picnic tomorrow but before I do wanted to share the latest Elf offer that's just popped up in my inbox - £5 off when you spend £20 plus entry into a prize draw to win 10 studio matte eyeshadows - see the pic below for the codes and Happy Easter!

Until next time,

Blog Challenge - Day 21

21 – A photograph of the part of you that you dislike the most

I really struggled to hit the publish post button today as my teeth are a part of my body that I'm really self-conscious about. As you can see from the pic my front teeth are pretty crooked due to me having too many for the size of my mouth! (they removed 4 of them when I was younger but they're still cosy-ing up at the front there!) One of my front teeth also has a white mark called a hypoplasia on it where it was damaged whilst forming in my my gum. I've been contemplating with the idea of getting a brace fitted for years but always talk myself out of it so for now this grill (as American lovelies may call it!) is here to stay!

Blog Challenge - Day 20

20 – A band/artist not many people know of but you think they should

Source
Cut//Copy are an electropop band from Australia. Their album 'In Ghost Colours' is amazing and I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Which bands or artists do you think deserve a spot in the limelight?

Until tomorrow,

Swatched: Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Fuchsia

A lunch hour purchase from Superdrug today. I was really excited to see that the Sleek stand had loads of the new shades of their True Colour lipsticks in stock....but not so excited that of the 16 or so colours there were just 3 testers! :( They cost £3.99 each...there was a 2 for £6 offer on but I wasn't keen on buying without trying so opted for just one in the shade Fuchsia - a stunning neon pink.

The range includes both matte and sheen finishes - Fucshia is the latter and so it takes a couple of layers to build the colour which once layered up looks like this.....

In addition its also lovely and moisturising so no need for balm underneath - here it is in action on my lips (excuse the scruffy application - I don't wear bright shades often and it shows!)

I'm absolutely in love with this lippie - its the perfect shade for summer and makes me smile as soon as I slick it on. I will definitely be picking up a few more of these once Superdrug sort 'tester-gate' out!

Until next time,

Blog Challenge - Day 19

19 – A photo of your handwriting

I'm so used to using computers for practically everything that I barely even know what my handwriting is like these days but here's the answer :)
Until tomorrow,

This week I've been....

Nailing a bargain by getting a bottle of Bourjois foundation for just £4! Boots are offering Healthy Mix for £6.99 at the mo and I got an extra £3 off using April's discount voucher from the booklet I mentioned in this post. I know its not mega-bucks but £6 isn't to be sniffed at! :)

Now I know that Primark jewellery isn't of the highest quality but I've worn this ring just twice and the gold colour has literally rubbed straight off so its now half silver :( I completely understand that you get what you pay for but only being able to wear something twice feels like a bit of a rip-off to me!

To cheer myself up from the aforementioned jewellery disaster I picked up some new earrings at the weekend - I love the pinky-coral colour of the Dotty P ones and the gold knot studs remind me of the jewellery my mum used to wear in the early 90s (in a good way of course!)

to Michael McIntyre's autobiography Life & Laughing. I bought this on audiobook download for the train ride to see my mum and spent most of the journey laughing out loud much to the amusement of people in my carriage. If you love Michael then you should definitely get this - its hilarious!

I tried this Dotty P's dress on a few weeks ago whilst visiting my my mum but was undecided about whether to get it so figured I'd have a think and buy it online.....only to find it was out of stock on the web and in all of my nearby stores. Naturally now I can't have it I need it! Booooooo!

These lovely blogs...

Until next week,
